Start with 5–10 well-prepared listings rather than rushing 50 mediocre ones. Quality beats quantity at the start. Once you see what's getting traction, scale those categories first. Each listing should have complete photos, a full description, and accurate pricing before it goes live.
Accept returns with a clear, simple policy. Sellers who offer easy returns build trust faster. Most return requests come from sizing — so accurate size charts and model measurements in your descriptions can dramatically reduce your return rate before it even starts.
Wait until you have at least 10 reviews and a clear sense of your margins. Promotions amplify existing success — they don't create it. Start with a 10–15% launch discount on new arrivals, and use platform-native sale events for maximum visibility at lower cost.
Extremely important. Incorrect categories mean your product appears in the wrong search results — or not at all. Spend time picking the most specific category available. Tags should reflect real search terms buyers use: "cotton kurta women" not just "kurta". More specific = less competition, better buyer intent.
Yes, significantly. Marketplaces reward fast, reliable fulfilment with higher placement in search results. Aim to dispatch within 24 hours. If you can't, set accurate lead times — honest expectations lead to better reviews than overpromising and under-delivering every time.
Payments are processed on a 7-day settlement cycle after the buyer confirms delivery. Funds are transferred directly to your linked bank account via NEFT/IMPS. You can track every payout in your seller dashboard under the "Payments" tab. Any disputes or holds are communicated via email with full details.
Every seller on Flint & Thread goes through identity verification before they can list. Look for the verified badge on seller profiles, read recent reviews, and check their response rate and fulfilment history. We also operate a Buyer Protection Programme — if your order doesn't arrive or doesn't match the listing, you're fully covered.
Yes. Once the seller ships your order, you'll receive a tracking ID and carrier name via email and in-app notification. You can follow the shipment live from your "My Orders" page. For orders above ₹2,000, real-time GPS tracking is available where supported by the logistics partner.
Absolutely. Flint & Thread welcomes individual artisans, home-based sellers, and small self-employed creators. You just need a valid Aadhaar or PAN for KYC, a bank account for settlements, and at least one product ready to list. No GST number is required for sellers below the threshold — we guide you through every step during onboarding.
Your first 10 reviews are your most valuable growth asset. After each confirmed delivery, buyers receive an automated review prompt — you don't need to ask manually. What you can do: respond to every review (positive or negative), include a thank-you card in your packaging, and deliver a little more than expected on quality. Great unboxing = unprompted reviews.
